Family Heirlooms is a comic book based on the accessory culture of LAKAS Bihawo’s Ayta tribe, located in Botolan, Zambales. It follows the story of a boy named JC, who struggles to balance his love for creating the traditional accessories of his tribe with his schoolwork. His mother, a teacher at the school he attends, plans to shape him up.Not only does Family Heirlooms contain themes and lessons such as the importance of responsibility and listening to your parents, both of which are valuable lessons for children and adolescents, but it also encourages cultural appreciation, presenting information about one of the indigenous groups of the Philippines in an entertaining manner.
